Chai came from a Persian breeder in Northern Virginia whose operation was cited for overcrowding. She arrived a little wary but has blossomed into a lounge fixture — usually found on the highest shelf.
She has a ritual of her own: she'll watch you from across the room for the better part of an hour before deciding whether you're worth her time. When she finally descends and settles beside you, the whole lounge staff quietly celebrates.
Chai is best suited for a calm, adult household — ideally one with plenty of elevated perches and an owner who takes "selective" as a compliment.
